The cheerleaders at Briarwood Academy promote school spirit, support athletic teams, help to build self-esteem, and promote character as they work with each other. Cheerleaders perform at pep-rallies, kick-off banquets, games, and competitions.
Varsity Cheerleaders
Students in grades 9 – 12 who maintain a passing grade in all classes are eligible to cheer for football and basketball. The team members are required to attend practice, cheer at all football and home basketball games, must attend summer camp, and must attend competitions if on the competition squad. The varsity cheerleaders are coached by Mrs. Hadden and Mrs. Newsome.
Middle School Cheerleaders
Students in grades 6 – 8 who maintain a passing grade in all classes are eligible to cheer for football and basketball. The team members are required to attend practice, cheer at all football and home basketball games, and must attend summer camp. The middle school cheerleaders are coached by Mrs. Fleming and Mrs. Reese.
