Clayton Benton Parrish III, a member of the staff at Briarwood for the past nine years, serves as Principal and Athletic Director.
Mr. Parrish, who is in his sixth year as Principal, quickly established himself as one of the GISA's top coaches. He coached the Briarwood 1999 AA State Championship men's basketball team and the 2001 and 2002 AA state champion Lady Bucs track teams. He was named the Georgia Independent School Association Coach of the Year in 1999 and the GISA Women's Track Coach of the Year in 2001 and 2002. Coach Parrish was named The Augusta Chronicle Basketball
Coach of the Year of 1999, 2001 and 2002. He was selected twice to coach in the GISA North/South All Star basketball game, coaching the North men's squad in 1999 and the North women's squad in 2003. Coach Parrish is currently the women's coach in basketball and track.
A graduate of Wilkes Academy, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management from Clemson University in Clemson, S.C. Coach Parrish and his wife, Valerie, and their daughters, Mackenzie and Abby, reside in Augusta.
